Bags under the eyes can result from allergies or an indulgent lifestyle and giving you an aged look. To find out how to get rid of bags under your eyes you have to identify the cause of the “eye bags”. If the cause is genetic or due to a health issue you can’t do much about it but if the cause is lifestyle you can definitely make changes.
If the bags under the eyes are caused because of sleepless conditions, water retention, impaired nutrition or exposure to harsh elements of nature, follow these steps to get rid of bags under your eyes:
1. Make use of a cold compress for about 15-30 minutes, once or twice everyday or every alternate day will temporarily get rid of eye bags.
2. Applying cold cucumber slices are also supposed to soothe eyes and may reduce puffiness under the eyes.
3. Applying green tea bags that have been kept in the refrigerator for some time can also help in reducing puffiness. This remedy also works temporarily but constant reduction of puffiness benefits in the long term.
4. If your eye bags are caused by water retention, please address this problem as fast as possible. Reduce your intake of salt, drink lot of water. Take some exercise and do not drink too much alcohol. If you smoke a lot please cut down on that as well. A balanced diet is also a must. Too much of fat intake may also cause water retention.
5. Use of cosmetic fillers like Botox can also help in reducing eye bags. But take this treatment only from an experienced practitioner.
