How to Get Rid of a Mouse

When your house is infested with mice and rats life can be a living hell. They nibble everything and you don’t know from which part of the house it will sneak next.

How to get rid of a mouse can be indeed a daunting task. During fall a mouse usually looks for a warm spot and your kitchen or attic seem to be the perfect spot for them to spend the winter ahead. Once the mice have set up a base in your house you can drive them away by following these steps:

1.    Rat poison: These are effective and they take care of the mouse quietly and effective. One disadvantage though is that occasionally the mouse dies in difficult to reach places and it is hard to remove them and there is a horrible stench throughout the house. Look for rat poisons that claim that the mouse dies outdoors.

2.    Rat traps: These have been used since the very beginning of pest control and are quite effective. The traps are of different kinds. There are traps that kill, like those in which there is a lethal dose of electricity that kills the mouse. There is the snap trap that snaps shut and traps the mouse. The glue trap, in this one the mouse accidentally steps on the glue and gets stuck on the adhesive pad.

3.    There are also live traps that shut the moment the mouse enters and then it can be left in the outdoors—a bit more humane. You can use this one if you hate to kill the mice.

4.    Call pest control professionals. You may have to suspend all activities while they are working in the house.
