The reason for this is that the chemical leptin, which acts as an appetite suppressant and lets your brain know that you are full, is decreased by sleep deprivation.  It can also lower insulin, which helps the body to regulate your blood sugar.</p>
<p><strong>3) Manage Your Stress Level: </strong>Some of the worst chemicals for your body when it comes to losing belly fat are adrenaline, cortisol and insulin &#8211; and those are precisely the chemical that are released by stress.  There&#8217;s even a double whammy effect with cortisol &#8211; it&#8217;s correlated with increased appetite and fat production, and that fat deposits itself specifically around the belly area.</p>
