How to Get Rid of Acne

Acne or pimples is a natural process, especially in teenagers. However they can be quite unsightly and can cause lot of anguish to the youngster who is very conscious of his or her appearance. The causes of acne are many but usually paying a little attention to diet, a good sleep and drinking adequate water will help curb acne problems. Follow these steps to keep acne under check:

1.    Wash your facial skin with warm water and a mild medicated face wash once or twice a day. Massage your face gently with your fingertips and wash your face with warm water.

2.    Use over the counter creams for acne treatment. You may have to try a few to find the one suited for your skin. Please remember the expensive creams are not necessarily effective and also all the herbal formulations may not be good as the ingredients that go into them may not be of good quality.

3.    Be cautious when you use ski care products meant for all skin types. Choose oil free make-up, creams, lotions and sunscreens. Creams that have non-comedogenic written on them are the most suitable.

4.    Do not allow hair products or dandruff to fall on your face. Cover your face with a towel when you are applying hair care products. When taking a bath, make sure no shampoo or conditioner remains on the facial skin. Wash it off properly.

5.    Do not allow germs and sweat to remain on your face. Do not allow long hair to fall on your face. Protect your face from the harsh sun light.

6.    Consult a dermatologist if your acne problem gets aggravated.

7.    Watch your diet, eating oily food can affect your skin and acne problems.
